75% of all playground injuries are the result of falls, so to keep children as safe as possible, make sure you have proper supervision, proper surfacing material under & around playground and proper equipment maintenance.

No playground is complete without safety surfacing to cushion a child’s fall. The Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends five acceptable options to protect the surface of your play area:

• Poured-In-Place Rubber (ADA compliant)
• Rubber Tiles (ADA compliant)
• Artificial Turf (ADA compliant)
• Engineered Wood Fiber (ADA compliant)
• Shredded Rubber (ADA compliant)

We can walk you through all your playground surfacing options to ensure you choose the playground surface that meets your site’s safety needs. There are two categories of safety surfacing: loose-fill and solid surfacing.

Loose-Fill

Loose-fill materials like wood chips and shredded rubber are cost effective and most popular because of their excellent shock absorbing properties when installed and maintained at appropriate depths. To help minimize loose-fill surface replacement cost, we recommend using interlocking recycled plastic border timbers.

Solid Surfacing

Tired of the yearly upkeep of the loose fill materials, then Solid surfacing like Rubber Tiles and Artificial Turf are the answer. Solid surfacing offers many benefits like cosmetics, durability, and virtually maintenance free. Rubber safety tiles have been protecting children from playground related accidents and creating more accessible play areas for children of all abilities for years. Manufactured in the USA from 100% recycled rubber, they are environmentally friendly and safely cushion the impact of a fall to reduce the risk of serious injury in both outdoor and indoor play areas.
